Save the Children & Defilanthropy.org Launch 2 NFT Collections to Save the Lives of 100,000 Children in Mexico & Ukraine by Providing Them with Food, Safe Spaces & Education

  • 100% of the profits generated by the art auctions, royalties, and sales of the two NFT collections will be donated to save the lives of 100,000 children in Mexico & Ukraine via the emergency fund
  • The first collection, called the ‘Defilanthropy Heroes Challenge’ consists of celebrities, organizations and content creators donating a photo of when they were children, which will then be transformed into a hand-drawn illustration, uploaded into OpenSea for auction as an NFT and promoted by the childhood Heroes that donated their NFT
  • The second collection, called ‘Save the Children in Mexico & Ukraine’ is a lower cost collection which consists of hand-drawn illustrations of children requiring humanitarian aid

https://www.savethechildren.net/ and https://defilanthropy.org are about to launch two NFT collections  on June 9, 2022 in order to assist 100,000 children in Mexico & Ukraine via the emergency fund.

The focus of the campaign is on Mexico and Ukraine specifically, because the war in Ukraine has displaced more than 400,000 children and the fact that Mexico, although it’s not apparently at war, has more violence-related deaths per day than Ukraine itself and is the #1 worst ranked country in terms of physical violence, sexual child abuse and homicides of children under 14 years old according to the OECD (within OECD affiliated countries).

The first collection, called the ‘Defilanthropy Heroes Challenge’ consists of several childhood Heroes (celebrities, content creators, web3 builders, blockchain projects, organizations, media channels and/or companies) donating a photo of when they were children (organizations and companies donate their first logo when the entity was just getting started). The photo is then transformed into a hand-drawn illustration and uploaded into OpenSea for auction as an NFT. The childhood Heroes then promote the NFT they donated to the cause by challenging 5 other friends with large audience reach to elevate consciousness to heal the world and join them in this movement as Heroes of childhood.

Auctions start at 2 ETH (around $4,000 USD as of the date this press release is written) and each individual NFT art sale will assist at least 4 children for a minimum of 12 months (more if the auction price is driven higher) by providing them with food, safe spaces, and education. This collection allows more Heroes to join this cause for childhood over the course of 3 months, but it’s capped to a maximum supply of 1,000 Defilanthropy Hero NFTs. Using a royalty smart contract, 10% of all sales in secondary markets will also be donated to save the lives of even more children. Heroes can also choose to provide additional benefits to the NFT they donated like a dinner with the philanthropist that purchased the NFT.

“Amidst the chaos and economic collapse in secondary markets caused by governmental intervention (war, sanctions, interest hikes, etc.) and all the scams, hacks and crypto projects with no value fundamentals; we are extremely excited to show the world how Save the Children and Defilanthropy plan to leverage the Ethereum ecosystem which is already solving some of humanity’s biggest economic and social problems via decentralized blockchain technology, and how Ethereum is about to become the most profitable entity in the world after the Proof of Stake merge, defining value investing fundamentals” says Daniel Molano, Co-Founder & Core Team member at Defilanthropy.org

The second collection, called ‘Save the Children in Mexico & Ukraine’, is a lower cost collection for those that still want to become champions of childhood, but consider the auction budget of the first collection to be out of their budget. Sale occurs at a minter within Defilanthropy.org’s website at a buy now price of 0.07 ETH each (around $150 USD as of the date this press release is written). Only 10,000 NFTs will ever be minted, and a 10% royalty fee is also configured into the smart contract so that even more children can be assisted through secondary market sales.

Save the Children and Defilanthropy.org are also rewarding the philanthropists that purchase these NFTs with $DPHI tokens. Per every $100 USD that are purchased/donated, Defilanthropy provides 8.75 crypto tokens back to the philanthropist as a reward for their contribution. The $DPHI token is part of a bigger movement and blockchain technology seeking to disrupt philanthropy called ‘Give 2 Earn’ in which they are decentralizing and democratizing philanthropy by empowering the donors. Philanthropists will now decide the resource allocation of their own donations by having full transparency and visibility thanks to decentralized blockchain technology on the use, impact, and results of their contributions.
